TALM- Angers en partenariat avec le Musée des Beaux Arts d’Angers

Cycle Texte/son, Voix/Son

From the beginning of the 20th century onwards, there was an emancipation of words outside the space of the page, but also sounds outside the matter of words. Certain movements and great avant-garde figures (Dadaism, Futurism, Lettrism ...) open the field to a new form of poetry which will give rise to the development of experimental poetry from the 1950s onwards. Nevertheless, it is important not to circumscribe the text / sound question, voice / sound, to that of the poetic and literary field. But to show and observe that on this same question the borders are extremely porous between various artistic disciplines, be it the visual arts, the creation of radio and contemporary music.

Anne-Laure Chamboissier

Violaine Lochu
« Vox on vox »
Conférence-performance
December 14th 2017
Violaine Lochu’s work leads to an exploration of voice and language. In her sound works, performances and videos, she crosses her own vocal research, resulting from free re-readings of different written or oral traditions and a sound material, collected during the numerous meetings, to which her practice gives rise.

François Noudelmann
« Literature and music out of breath »

Tuesday, February 13, 2018
The presence of music in literature changes in nature when attention to sounds outweighs the pleasure of recomposing harmonies. The writing becomes an echo chamber of the old tunes and modifies the voices which are reduced to murmurs and breaths. We will listen to this mutation of soundscapes in the works of Beckett, Duras and Quignard.

Jean-Michel Espitallier
« Espitallier music »
Thursday, March 15, 2018
For this before last session of the Text / Voice / Sound cycle, the poet writer and drummer, Jean-Michel Espitallier will speak about his work, his tools, his universe (imaginary and formal) and his inscription in the field of poetry / literature. He will insist on his intense relationship with music and sound and will offer a commented listening of some musical and sound works.

Pierre Yves Macé
« Voice of the other »
Conference-listening
Tuesday, April 10, 2018
Composer Pierre Yves Macé will present his work in the light of the links between the musical discourse, the text and the voice. His lecture will be illustrated by many plays. He will rely on the different forms of vocality derived from the musical setting of the literary text in a classical setting (Marcel Proust, Virginia Woolf, or Pierre Senge, etc.), to support his argument on the question of the voice as " fundamental "exteriority", through several examples of incorporation of the recorded voice - voices of the Other, anonymous or exiles.
